Rugby training

Today we had a visit from Tai, a junior development coach for the Canterbury Rugby Football Union. Tai took students through a series of activities based around ball handling skills. It was great to see so many girls involved.
Well done to everyone who participated. Tai said he was most impressed by the manners and common sense shown out there today.  Here are a few pictures and a short video of what we did.

Touch Rugby draw 21.3.2014 FINAL touch games


This Friday is the FINAL week for touch rugby. The teams that have a box around them - the first game in each age group - are playing off for 1st and 2nd.
Please note that from 6pm there is a prize giving and disco that will be held at the Halswell Rugby League Club. Everyone is invited.

Crusaders coming tomorrow

Kieran Read and Tim Perry of the mighty Crusaders will be at school tomorrow from 12:00 - 1:00pm. They will have a photo and Q & A session, followed by a training / fun session with a group of students.


Come on down if you get a chance.


Students are strongly encouraged to wear any and everything related to the Crusaders.


Let's show that Oaklands is behind the Crusaders.

Run / Bike / Run

The Kauri Run / Bike / Run has been postponed due to the the weather.

Our postponement date is Thursday 27th March.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, the Top Town event has been postponed. We are working on organising a new date.

Kauri Top Team event and Run/Bike/Run

Top Team Challenge
The weather is not looking too promising for tomorrow METSERVICE for the Kauri Top Team challenge. This event is organised by Sport Canterbury and is a very popular event in schools. Rooms 4,5,6,12, and 13 will participate from 11:00am - 12:30pm, while Rooms 7,8,9,10,11 and 25 are scheduled from 1:15 - 2:45pm.

Students will require a change of clothes and towel as some of the activities involve water.

A decision on whether the event goes ahead or is postponed will be made in conjunction with Sport Canterbury tomorrow morning. You will be informed via this sports blog or through the school phone message system.

Kauri Run / Bike / Run

The weather is set to clear Thursday but any decision to decide if it goes ahead or is postponed will be made by 8:00am on Thursday via the sports blog, school phone system and an email to year 4 - 8 families.

If postponed, the event will be rescheduled for at least a couple of weeks due to our busy school calendar.
